Green Energy

The combination of diminishing fossil fuels and global warming means that green energy presents a unique long-term investment opportunity, that is both ethically responsible and financially viable. We invest to capitalize on the structural shift from fossil to renewable energy. Our family of green energy companies include:

Umoe Gas Carriers

Umoe Gas Carriers transports liquefied natural gas – an important bridge to a fossil-free future. Operated by Knutsen OAS Shipping, in Haugesund, Norway, the company runs a fleet of five specialized liquefied natural gas tankers (LNGs). Large, modern vessels, equipped with membrane-type cargo containment systems, they range in size from 138,000 m³ to 173.400 m³.

All six vessels are time chartered to oil and energy companies, operating under long term contracts with respected charterers. Gas carrying is a growing market that complements the Knutsen Group's strategy of acquiring advanced vessels on long-term charter contracts; Umoe holds between a 37.5% and 50% stake in each of the five vessels, which generate a combined total turnover in excess of 150 million USD.
